Configuration is like logging a crosscutting concern in applications, e.g DEFINE default values here, CHANGE settings there, and USE settings somewhere else again. Visit http://config4j.sourceforge.net for a complete set of features!

Hi folks, As always a lot of changes have been made this time. Unfortunatly, we even had to change some interfaces. So that developers which do already use Config4J as configuration library may need to change some code in order to make their application work with the newer version. With Config4J version 0.4 we want to introduce our new homepage at http://config4j.sourceforge.net! This is due to the fact that some friends asked us what Config4J actually does, why it is so useful, and what it is capable of. All these questions and much more is explained there in its very detail. Tutorials help to easily get in touch with our configuration framework. The new version cleanly separates GUI and core. The validation part is much more powerful. Developers can even contribute with their own validation classes. Furthermore they can create their own GUI sitting on top of Config4J or adapting and extending the existing default GUI without touching the code of Config4J. Config4J has been designed a lot more modular, extensible, and usable. Just visit our homepage at: http://config4j.sourceforge.net in order to get an idea of the new features of Config4J. The following features will be: * Introduce Expert Settings which are only visible when a certain switch is triggered. * Dynamic lists in the gui (Add - button aso) * CustomConstraints (See http://config4j.wiki.sourceforge.net/Example3 for further detail) * More Examples!! * More SettingsReader * (GUIs written in different toolkits => SWT) and much more. Cheers! Marcel
