    The problem: Suhosin messes up the flash upload header, ending the session.

    The fix in suhosin.ini to allow file uploads

    ; Flag that decides if the transparent session encryption is activated or not.
    suhosin.session.encrypt = Off

    So suhosin is on, with session.encrypt set to off, and I can upload files.

    Problem solved (for me at least).
