I'm using aptana 2.0, so this might not be the best test case. It's built on eclipse 3.5, and it refuses to install from the update site, producing the following error:
Missing requirement: Columns for Eclipse 3.3.1 1.3.4 (de.gmbh.jtiger.columns4eclipse.feature.feature.group 1.3.4) requires 'de.gmbh.jtiger.columns4eclipse [1.3.4]' but it could not be found
I have had luck with eclipse...

Sadly, Java 1.6 is not available for OSX 1.4 (Tiger), and OSX 1.5 (Leopard) only has 64 bit VM for 1.6 . Since SWT is not ported to 64 bit on OSX (no 64 bit Carbon), this plugin can not be used on OSX. (I guess we could try compiling it ourselves with 1.5 though).

Isn't anybody going to fix this bug? It is really a major disadvantage that columns already formatted with tabs can't be manipulated using this plugin.

columns4eclipse requires Java 1.6. I had the same issue issue and installed 1.6 jre, restarted Eclipse, and the plugin now works.

Same issue on Zend Studio For Eclipse based on Eclipse 3.3.1, I have to switch to JRE 1.6 (from JRE 1.5) and reinstall the plugin.

On Eclipse 3.3.2, any menu item triggers an information window to popup with the following message: "The chosen operation is not currently available"
Has it been tested successfully tested by anyone ?.

It's nice, but I need it for Java 1.5 now, 'cause we still have 1.5 on our server.
