Hi Mark, Sorry for the delay. Yes, was able to see the same sort of output using an earlier version of Lustre. In this case: collectl-3.6.7-1.el5 Lustre 1.8.8 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5 CentOS release 5.8 (Final) # cat /proc/fs/lustre/version lustre: 1.8.8 kernel: patchless_client build: jenkins-wc1-gbc88c4c-PRISTINE-2.6.18-308.4.1.el5 # uname -r 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5 # cat...

I guess great minds think alike because I've been looking for various ways to speed up playback as well and have also thought of doing a binary search as well but as you said, the existing compression library has not been my friend in this case and so it is good to hear about Gzip::Random. However, there is something else you might be able to do to greatly speed things up and that's to use an...

Thanks for the info. I'm always happy to hear from people who have discovered the utilities as I personally can't live w/o colplot - that was the main reason I wrote it! Anyhow I honestly have no idea why you're seeing what you're seeing. In an ideal world if you could share the data file causing the uninitialized warning I'd be happy to take a closer look as I'm sure it's related to the...

Hi, I'm running collectl to capture information for specific durations of applications, so I'll just start/stop when a certain query (for example) runs. when I use colplot to create some grapsh, when using "detall", I always get these: Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/share/collectl/colplotlib.ph line 1774, <CFG> line 15. or Use of uninitialized value in...

Hello Mark and thank you for collectl, Collectl is great. We use it to collect the processes subsys at 60s interval with logs rolling daily at midnight. On a busy host playing back the .raw.gz log file for a time towards the end of the day can take a while, for example below the .gz file is 86MB. time collectl -p /var/log/collectl/hostname-20130428-000000.raw.gz --from=23:55...

hmm, looking at the code I see collectl looks for a line that looks like LLITE_RPC:x:y data... it expects to see numbers in the 1st and 5th fields of the data portion, noting the indexing starts at 0. from what I can see above the the entroes for 0:0 and 0:1 don't even look like each other and I guess I have to ask if the people who bring us lustre have changed the format of that data. do...

Hi Mark, As others have said, you've really produced a fantastic tool here. Lots and lots of uses for it - especially enjoying using it with Lustre. BTW, I should clarify that this report applies *ONLY* when running the command/options on a Lustre client. When using the same options and running on an OSS, it works as expected. Thanks again, Brett.
