What's happening?

  • Relative paths for backup destination

The target directories in Cobian are absolute paths only. I'd like to have the option to add a relative path as a target directory for my backup.

  • Zip file end-up corrupted...

I am backupping a network folder containing 60 GB of data and the file compresses to 35 GB. I am using backup type incremental and compression method Zip compression / no split. The archive created is find for a while. It is scheduled to run daily. after 2 or 3 days the archive becomes corrupted and I can't retrieve files from it. I use WinRAR 3.80. Is it just happening to me? I did not...

  • Comment: Starting Backups at System Shutdown

There is some backup apps out there that do this .. watch for and intercept the shutdown event , run the applicable backup tasks, then shutdown the system.. Should be added as a schedule item..

That clause you quoted does not seem to be in the MPL. As it says on http://www.educ.umu.se/~cobian/cobianbackup.htm Cobian 8 is under Mozilla Public License, but the author was disappointed with results. Perhaps the license or confusion discouraged anyone to contribute. According to http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html MPL is not compatible with GPL anyway. So the software...

  • Licensing - is this really open source?

Hello, I have just downloaded the latest files from sourceforge. However, during the install, the following licence agreement popped up: "Please, read carefully the following license agreement. If you don't accept the terms of the agreement, please delete immediately the software from your computer. Cobian Backup 8, all it's files and documentation (the software) is copyrighted...

  • Followup: RE: 8.4.0.198 on SF, but 8.4.0.202 on web sit

considering that the new version 9 is no longer open source, should the primary repository and support for version 8 be moved back to this sourceforge site from cobian.se?.
