  • **Things/features I like**: - Visual style of building data jobs the Designer GUI. - Detailed monitoring options to find/pinpoint problems - Automation options ranging from simple time schedules to reactions to events (error, appearance of file, arrival of message, etc.) - Scalability through clustering features which allow massive-parallelism -Integration with many database platforms, message queues and APIs - Quite powerful DSL language - CTL - which natively supports data types like decimal, date/time, JSON - Option to "include" previously developed data jobs in Python or SQL scripts (kind of combination of ETL & ELT) -Regular updates bringing new features and addressing bugs or security vulnerabilities **Things to consider**: - This is a tool for tech users. Less technical (business) users can find the learning curve a bit steep
  • Nice try. Using an proprietary scripting language is out dated.

Don't think so. The internal data manipulation language is strongly typed and contains some data types which are important and not (directly) present in general purpose scripting languages - like (true) DECIMAL, DATE/DATETIME datatypes. The Designer also contains visual debugger for the language. There is also possibility to compile into Java/bytecode for faster execution.
  • Great application. Thanks
