Follow up from Alexander:
As per the attached WAD, the switch to the left doesn't crash anymore, but the
one in front still does. The other three work as intended.
s3 can also be NULL, just like s2. Applying the same check to s3 fixes the
problem it seems.
Hopefully this gets killed for good this time.
