• Genesis

  This is just a preliminary release. It does absolutely nothing except report an error. Initially, I had trouble with the CGI Header. I kept putting "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" when all I needed was "Content-Type: text/html". So needless to say, it was better after that.

• Introduction

  I know, cgi programs are common. However, I was thinking that if we all used a simple CGI program in our web servers instead of these complex ones like perl, and java and God knows what else, that a new one with simpler, more popular syntax could be used. I know, Visual basic has CGI capabilities, but how easy that to implement? First off, you have to have console access (either remotly, or on the desk) to the server to install it, and not many people can. Bottom line? Let's make the web simpler for those who are just starting out or those who can't be bothered. Ultimately, that is the goal for cgiBASIC. I hope many people will support it and give it a chance. I will be uploading new versions as soon as I can. I work full time and think more often. Also, I'm targetting interpreted and compiled versions as well as platform independence between Linux/Unix and Windows (all versions). I'm open to suggestions, criticism of all kinds (there's an open door!), help or comments.
