The 1.0 release if finally done! As far as I can tell CellSafe is stable and bug free. This release took a while to make because of problems with the midlet built by WTK 2.5. After lots of testing, I was unable to figure out why the CellSafe midlet produced by 2.5 would not work and moved back to WTK 2.2.
0.2 === * Cleaned up safe tool help and error handling. * Reduced memory usage of safe. * Midlet usability fixes. 0.3 === * Moved to subversion. * Code cleanup and usability fixes. 0.4 === * Rewrote encryption code from scratch for more efficiency. * Encryption of safe now done in CBC mode for increased security. * Terminology change: Category -> Tag * Safes not compatible with previous version. To migrate: * Unlock in text format with old code. * Rename 'unlocked.txt' to 'NAME.unlocked.txt' * Remove 'safe' and 'safe.old'. * Lock NAME with new code. * Entry names must now be unique in a safe. * Command line tool rewritten to manage a set of named safes. * Import and export support for command line tool. * Java 1.6 required for command line tool. * Searching with relevance ranking of results. * Midlet UI updates. * New midlet icon kindly supplied by user. 1.0 === * Sort entry names when browsing a tag or search results. * Minor updates to command line tool. * Minor doc updates.
After some user encouragement I've made a new release with substatial improvements on both the desktop and the cell phone. The improvement include UI fixes, a better command line tool, and a rewrite of the crypto system for improved security. As always, feedback is welcome.
