cEdit is an advanced and free alternative to both common text editors, and IDE's. It has many of the features found in shareware editors, including extensive language support, function listing, built in FTP, projects, and docking support.

I'm currently in the process of doing an almost total rewrite of cEdit. I've made some descent progress. I'm kind of stuck at the moment though trying to descide which editing component to use. I have two options available which are Scintilla utilizing DelphiSCI or SynEdit. I've been leaning towards SynEdit due to the improved speed and the fact that it's a native VCL component so there will be no external libraries needed. However Scintilla does support code folding which is only poorly supported in SynEdit. SynEdit also has support for some other nice features such as spell checking. Basicly I'm looking for some opinions from users how they feel about this. Opinions can be expressed either on the cEdit forum at http://www.ceditmx.com or you can email me on here. Thank you much
Changes/Fixes ------------- * Fixed the issue where closing a window with the x button then reopening the window would cause it to be stuck docked and if closed it would not update the pain. * Added in persistancy * Modified it so a form in focus would not kill focus on the main form. * Fixed the persistancy so it would keep the form hidden through close/open.
