gpe-cash sub-project
CashUtil has spawned a sub-project that will help to improve cashutil itself and provide a Gtk GUI for embedded devices to create and edit double-entry financial data. gpe-cash is based in the same SVN at SourceForge and is pre-alpha. The current codebase uses GnuCash objects to load a simple interface for creating new accounts with support for creating the opening balances. This means that most of the required GnuCash code (Account, Transaction and Split) is now working in gpe-cash with the QOF SQLite backend. gpe-cash is a single-currency single-user implementation, trying to solve some of the problems in cashutil within a smaller environment.
