Ported to Linux on a Debian box version 2.6.18-6-686 (Debian 2.6.18.dfsg.1-23etch1)!!! The telnet server in VLC works properly now (unlike the Win32 build)!! Used Device::SerialPort to access the serial port! Changed the VLC codec to mp4.
