The Build Installer provides a lightweight GUI installer application to go over an existing configure/make/install source package. Its purpose is to make installing software from source easier and faster for end users, particularly non-developers.
* Users can now save the source and/or archive using the Export menu. Good if they want access to it themselves, or don't have the required tools to decompress/install the archive. Note that StuffIt Expander is quite capable of expanding tbz archives, so users can thus now perform the install manually, provided they still have make installed.
* The progress bar has been removed, since it was quite obviously fake anyway. If I figure out a way of making it meaningful, I'll put it back in.
* Text from the Build Installer is now large & bold in the build log window, to make it obvious.
* Log field auto-scrolls. If the user moves up manually, the scrolling will be disabled so they can read in peace. When they move the scroll position back to the bottom, auto-scrolling re-enables.
* Installer now cleans up all it's temp files. In the previous version some or all could be left behind, and would not normally be deleted until the next reboot.
* Now requires confirmation before performing an action that will cancel the build (e.g. 'Previous' button, quitting, etc). Will also now not allow the user to cancel the installation process (make install), in order to prevent partial installs.
* Closing the main (and only) window will now attempt to quit the installer, as you would expect.
* Default button (Continue) now responds to return/enter, as it should.
* Significant re-write of the internals, hopefully with the effect of making the source more readable and reliable.
