    There is some dependencies - snoop uses iptables. To work correctly iptables modules must present and work in system. Generic rule of thumb is if you can compile and install snoop, you can run it.
    For example you can't compile snoop(needs porting) on kernel 2.6.26, but I don't remember about 2.6.25.
