  • This is, perhaps was?, one of my favourite softsynths (along with Fluidsynth/Swami). I saw Was because.. no updates for what appears to be a decade now. :-( Oh, I've grabbed the tree and mean to keep it going for myself, and to study the hell out of it.. This is great sounding code, and does what I want from it. Sad to see that "monoBristol" got dropped from Debian, and I guess that rest will follow, for a load of cryptic Debianese TL;DR babble reasons. (possibly to do with it being mono, rather than something more.. It did seem to work. I was /so/ looking forward to the day the EMS VCS3/AK would spring to life too. :'( But the work the author did do here is first rate. Really!
  • Perhaps on the next release? @en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wurlitzer_electric_piano

  • fantastic project !
  • nice work. quick replies from the developer too. I'm not much for emulations of real synthesizers, but the variations from the originals and quirkyness of some of these sounds are worth investigating at the very least. Bristol is linux only. Otherwise you can buy the arturia series and run those on a bloated operating system, whichever floats your boat.
  • Hands down the best synth that I've found for linux. takes some tinkering and has a learning curve(but you should expect that if you're trying to use linux for music).
