  • Fixed all the problems in my life
  • I completely discharged the battery on my peppermint 11 (Debian) Laptop. When I tried to reboot I got the message that root was locked. I tried various things, and finally somebody recomended this "tool" I think what happened the disk was marked as encrypted and it was not. Anyway ran the extended boot recovery and now it boots fine. My only issue was I tried to read the log at the Ubuntu paste bin site, and it was not there. Pretty good tool!
  • Thank you for developing such a great and very easy to use tool!!!
  • Whoever you are yannubuntu, GOD bless you for this amazing project. Amazing tool that saved me!!!
  • Excellent Work!
  • Awesome information and am learning more everyday. Thanks Yanni...you the man!
  • Since I have discovered boot-repair-disk more than 20 years ago (yes twenty) it never failed me. It is a real godsend for people like me who can not resist experiencing any new path at one's risks. Thank you so much for this almost miraculous tool.
  • I have a Ubuntu server and edit the grub and it would not boot then so put this on a USB stick with "Raspberry Pi imager". On a Windows tablet. It worked but I guess it thought it was a desktop. Because on the screen I can't log in it has a purple rectangle about the size of the tablet with just a blinking cursor in the top left comer that I can't type anything. It just flashes. But it got it to boot and I can ssh and http and other things over Ethernet to it again. All so don't see any text of it booting up just bank until the purple rectangle comes up. Thank you. -Raymond Day
  • Perfect
  • I have used this several times over the past ten(?) years on a variety of hardware both single boot and dual boot as Grub breaks for no apparent reason and it has never failed to drag me out of the mire. The only hiccough was with my secure boot machines where I had disabled secure boot but Boot Repair needs you to go into Advanced settings and untick secure boot there. Took me a little while to find :-) Apart from that, absolutely perfect! I was going to ask where to donate but I've just found it on the home page. So thank you as well for not getting in my face with donate requests like some other projects. Brilliant!
  • The individuals experiencing lock ups and problems, are likely having issues with their hardware, i.e, video cards, hard drives, or memory. I downloaded the 64-bit iso, and used Rufus to create a bootable UEFI and/or legacy BIOS USB. I used it to repair a Windows 10 / Parrot dual boot. Windows performed an update and broke GRUB. It was easier to use than booting to live Parrot and then attempting to download the additional PPAs and whatnot. Booted right up, chose English, chose 64bit session failsafe, connected to a WiFi network, updated the software, chose system tools, boot repair, used recommended options. Software ran for about 10 minutes and then I rebooted. GRUB was fixed. If the software had not found any partitions, I would have tested the disk in depth.
  • Very good job, thanks developers!
  • I want to thank the developer. He saved my a** so many times LOL
  • It helped me so incredibly often! And it always worked for me. No matter how much I messed around with the partitions. Thank you sooo much! Well done!
  • Have used this many times working on client's machines.
  • maybe is great, but with my laptop it start at max resolution(4k) and i can't see anything even with glasses, fonts are too small
  • Worked for me, not the way everybody expect but with some patience I think this app can fix many boot issues, I did have issues with boot-repair since the beginning from not detecting BR to "successfully fixed" (when it wasn't), but after many attempts finally succeed, the problem with BR is this. Almost all the resources in the software are dedicated to fix Ubuntu and little resources for Windows, you have to change some things manually in advanced settings to tell BR where you want the MBR to be installed/fixed, in my case I wanted primarily fix the NTFS partition. I just make my account to write this review to show my gratitude to the developers, THANKS!!
  • Worked fine
  • I had a multiboot with Linux Mint and Windows 7. But when the Linux disc crashed (it was way over his lifetime) i had problems booting into windows. When windows bootlogo should apear my screen got scrambled and windows would not start trough. I found out that if the screen got scrambled i immediatly must press ESC key and 6 out of 10 times windows would boot! But very annoying!! And because of the scrambled up screen i did not know what the problem was?! Tried standard mbr repair and some other tools, but nothing could repair my problem. THIS TOOL DID !! *thumbs up*
  • Great program, recovered my computer and made it possible to rebuild corrupt superblock on Ext4. Graphical interface and very user friendly "Fix it" button. Saved my day. Thank you!
  • This really works! =) Thnx for sharing! =) God bless!
  • Excellent Tool. But I have a hint. I had installed Ubuntu on a Dell notebook having Win10 installed/running. After installation, I was not able to run Windows anymore. Nothing worked until I found this tool. After installing and running Boot-Repair, the hint came up, to disable “secure boot”. I restarted the computer and disabled “secure boot”. Rebooting caused nothing, only Ubuntu selectable/loadable. After login to Ubuntu, I run the tool again, successfully. Next booting brought up the screen allowing to select Ubuntu or Windows. Both are working properly. So, I assume, that disabling of “secure boot” should be done before running the tool. Anyway, everything is OK. Great thanks for this great tool.
  • It save my life many many times :):)
  • Don't bother with bootrec /fixmbr and all that nonsense. I messed up my boot by removing a linux partition, hours of hair pulling. I put boot-repair-disk on a usb stick, 2 clicks later... and it worked perfect. Try it first.
  • saved my butt with restoring my windows 10 bootup! will be looking to throw some support at yannubuntu. thanks much
