When I use the recommend script to start BSW, I also get the 'Too small initial heap' error message that was reported in an earlier post. If I start BSW without the '-Xmx8192' in the script, it opens fine. I'll play with it a while, now that I've gotten it to run, and give it a final rating later.

It took me several days to figure out how to get this software to work. Once I knew how, it was really, really simple. This is what I had to do: 1. Get rid of any OpenJDK that your Linux distro may come with (I was using CentOS 6.2) 2. Install Oracle's JDK for Java 7. This article describes how for my CentOS: http d.stavrovski.net/blog/post/how-to-install-and-setup-oracle-java-jdk-in-centos-6 (sorry, but URLs are prohibited here, so plead add the colon and double slashes after http). 3. Go to the Java webstart page of BookScanWizard and download the small file for your platform (either 32 or 64 bit). 4. From a terminal window type: javaws ~/Downloads/bsw64.php (this is my downloaded file from step 3). And voila, the application happily starts up. I'd really like my diybookscanner to be better integrated into something like BSW. Can anyone give me some advise on how to go about and get a version of BSW building & running from say eclipse (or any other Java IDE). I'm still struggling here too. Ultimately I'm dreaming of porting it all to my Mac and get a native OSX application that operates the cameras, gives direct feedback as you shoot the pages and produces the finished PDF (possibly even OCRs it as well). Any gel is much appreciated.

Useless. Command line recommended in the "readme.txt" file produced a "heap too small" error. Confusing to use.
