  • Followup: RE: build-install-opensync.sh - Error Ubuntu 9.10

I have the same problem here also on Ubuntu 9.10: While running ./build-install-opensync.sh -- checking for one of the modules 'libsyncml-3.0' CMake Error at cmake/modules/FindPkgConfig.cmake:357 (message): None of the required 'libsyncml-3.0' found Call Stack (most recent call first): cmake/modules/FindLibSyncMl.cmake:29 (PKG_SEARCH_MODULE...

In the building instructions it says: > blueZync needs the following prerequisites: > > * libwbxml > * libsyncml > > as well as OpenSync including a number of plugins and tools. > >blueZync will NOT work with older versions of those provided by main Linux distibutions, neither will blueZync necessarily work with specific versions offered upstream. >Instead you need to download...

This step build-install-opensync.sh is giving me an error on Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic): -- checking for one of the modules 'libopensync1;>=0.40' -- found libopensync1, version 0.40-snapshot -- checking for one of the modules 'glib-2.0' -- found glib-2.0, version 2.22.2 -- Found GLib2: glib-2.0 /usr/include/glib-2.0;/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -- Looking for include...

  • Followup: RE: lightning 1.0pre & beyond?

Henrik; I wish the news were more... hopeful. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the opensync project & community. I've been using TBird 3 & Lightning ever since TB3 went beta so, I'll keep my eyes open and make suggestions where I can there. Thank you for taking the time to write up this summary. Best, -Craig.

  • Followup: RE: lightning 1.0pre & beyond?

Hi Craig, Thank you for your interest in blueZync. (1): blueZync depends on OpenSync. OpenSync development is currently kind-of stalled, as past/current developers are otherwise occupied, and no new developers have stepped up. Due to problems in OpenSync, the current blueZync codebase does not work reliably (for any version of Thunderbird / Lightning). (2): Thunderbid 3 and Lightning...

  • lightning 1.0pre & beyond?

Hello; I've been following posts & threads here and there (e.g. [opensync ticket][1]) about bluezync for sunbird/lightning 1.0. I was hoping to get a sense of the status of this now. If I understand correctly: bluezync works with Tbird2 & lightning versions in a distro's respective repositories. Has there been any movement with TBird3/lightning 1? What can a non-coder do to help? tia,

  • Followup: RE: Error when saving Settings in GUI

This is strange - never saw this before! Please try to run with OSYNC_TRACE and see if you can figure out which dir cannot be created and why. Background: blueZync is creating a directory called "blueZync" inside your thunderbird profile directory (and as you get no error messages for this; we must assume that it works OK). Then OpenSync tries to create subdirectories called...

  • Followup: RE: build-packages.sh fails on Ubuntu 9.10

OK, it would seem that package building does not work at the moment. Could you please create a bug report for that? I am sorry, but I do not have time to fix it right now. Anyway the workaround is as described in the link I gave above > The easiest way to "install" the extension into Thunderbird is to create a symbolic link from Thunderbird's profile directory to the unpacked extension...
