Bistro is a new programming language that integrates the best features of Smalltalk and Java. Bistro is a variation of Smalltalk that runs ontop of any Java virtual machine (VM) that conforms to Sun's Java specifications.

IdentityDictionary and IdentitySet have been added to the Bistro collection class library based on JDK v1.4. Support for assertions has also been added. Please see the Notes on the Home Page for details.
OrderedCollection and SortedCollection now wrap Lists instead of Vectors. SmallInteger now provides some flyweights. The Bistro compiler now supports wrapped methods. Please see the Notes on the Home Page for details.
