Bibus Bibliographic software

Currently, Bibus 1.5 is still a "release candidate" (beta testing) version. This is probably the reason that there is no ready-to-use package available.

It may, however, be possible to install the .tar.gz version alongside your current 1.4.3-3, but it is not advisable to use it to directly upgrade.

In principle, you can unpack the .tar.gz archive to a directory in your home directory (/home/knut/bibus15 ???), and then run this bibus by running "python bibusStart.py" from this directory. You will need to have all necessary packages installed (wxpython 2.8 etc.).

Use at your own risk.

However, if you don't understand what you are doing, it is best to WAIT until 1.5 is officially released.
