  Just interupting in writing a project proposal: I'm not an expert on LateX, just a user of LyX. But everytime I'm using LyX I'm grateful of having biblatex. I have used many bibliographic systems in different contexts. But biblatex is by far the most sophisticated and flexible software I have ever used for these tasks. And it comes with an excellent documentation too, so that Newbies like me can adapt and modifiy the bilbiography to fulfill the very different required standards.

  Simply the best package I've seen for managing citations and bibliographies. Deserves to become the de facto way of doing things in LaTeX.
