I suspect this isn't a problem with Band Saw any more, but
was caused by the software that was sending messages to Band
Saw.

If you delete the last message in the list the window
doesn't automatically re-scroll. You end up with a big
gap at the bottom of the window; this is wrong.

This check works fine on Ubuntu. It needs testing on (for
example) FC4, in which the packaging structure is less clear
(should I be testing for other stuff too?).

Fixed in 0.3.1. The location is also persisted between
sessions, with the co-ordinates stored in GConf.
