Avian Freeware Suite (AFS) provides two things: Developers with libraries for Java Swing Widgets, XML handling, Fortran95 and Pascal; End users (Medical students, doctors, scientists) with productivity tools they can use (quizzes, XML databasing & PDF)

A Java Archive of Herron PDF Panel has been released . This is an executable .jar and contains all source code, libraries, and instructions inside it. The Herron PDF Panel is built on top of the multivalent library and is a Java Swing implementation of displaying PDF files.
This is a Java Swing implementation of the Multivalent library by Tom Phelps. The focus of Herron is to focus on PDF viewing with Java and the interface is designed with this in mind. Also has a custom UI delegate for the tabbed pane to make it look more like Adobe Acrobat reader. Enjoy- Jason Barraclough
The Avian Freeware Suite strives to make a collection of tools, programs, and libraries available to programmers and end users, in order to make their time more productive and their work easier. The Avian Filing Cabinet is a Swing component that is part of the Avian Freeware Suite's growing collection of Swing Widgets. You may not think too much of it being just a single widget but it is actually much more than just that. Java developers- Have you ever wondered how to enable your programs to manage and perform multiple document editing at once? Some programs for example using multiple document editing are OpenOffice where you can keep creating new documents and switching back and forwards between them to edit them. Perhaps you know already how to implement this in your application but are sick and tired of re-writing the same code time over again. What the AvianFilingCabinet does is to take all of the code required to make an engine to perform multiple document editing/managing and abstract it into a single component. It makes use of real-life analogies with filing cabinets in that you can "file" your documents as you create them into the AvianFilingCabinet and "retrieve" them later to edit them- the cabinet does all the organising for you. There are many helper methods supplied in the cabinet, enabling you to retrieve by ID, re-order the files, replace, file documents before others or after them, and with a robust exception handling framework, you are unlikely to have horrible errors that you can't recover from causing your program to crash. You can file whatever you please in the cabinet if you put them in "documents" (by extending the document class provided named AvianDocument), and if you really wanted to you could even file cabinets inside the cabinets! The possibilities of the engine are very flexible. AvianFilingCabinet hopes to take the code bulk and difficulty out of multiple document editing and management.
