Avadan is some kind of "rogue" or "hack" in space. Player travels from planet to planet in order to find the mystical oracles hidden on some of the planets. Once landed on one, player has to search rogue-like dungeons for the oracles.

  • Development continues...

Although I didn't release somethink within the last weeks, I'm still working on the game. I just upgraded to the newest version of Gambas and made a new TODO list. When all the effects of spells and scrolls are implemented, I'll upload a new package.

  • Beta release delayed

I wanted to release the first beta of the game on Nov 1st. Unfortunately, my studies and the need of write my masters thesis take a great amount of time, therefore I'm not able to reach this deadline.

  • data files for avadan

I've got some trouble to upload the data files package that is necessary to run Avadan. I believe it's due to my dial up connection and the size of the package (~ 9 MB). At monday I can try to upload it using my university's network access. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

  • First alpha today

Today I'll release the first alpha package of the source code and the data files. In this stage, the game is not winnable, and it will crash in many parts due to missing (not finished) data and graphic-files. Release notes are included with the source. You'll need Gambas 1.9.20 to run the game. In this moment, there is no binary yet available.

  • Scheduled date for first alpha release

I am planning to release a first alpha version of the project In the middle of october (2005/10/15). It's my first linux program. So don't be too harsh to me ;-) Avadan will always be in development, because it's a long time project, to give my life a sense ;-) Therefore there will be releases marked as stable and releases marked as unstable. Stable builds will have even numbers behind the . (e.g. 0.2). I don't know when there will be the first 1.0 release, I think there's still a long way to go. But I also think that all releases after the initial build (0.2 as first to come, followed by 0.4, 0.6 and so on) will be playable enough to give a good game experience.
