It runs on Linux and is really neat. Comes with several skins/themes. It's much simpler than Amarok. It lists your directories and sub-directories in its Repository section just like you were using a file manager so it's very easy to browse and select your songs. Only drawback so far is that it does not include the Shoutcast list but only a Podcast list and another, abbreviated, internet radio station list so you must locate your URL and create your own Radio Station.

Could not uninstall this program after taking it for a test drive. Nothing listed in Vista control panel and clicking the "Uninstall aTunes" from the start menu just starts the program...does not uninstall it.

Winamp broke on my system and I searched for a free replacement. I discovered Atunes and won't be going back to Winamp in the near, (Or distant) future.

atunes is essentially the best windows audio player out there; i do wish it could be more compact with a simplified interface yet maintain its near-perfect functionality.

This is the best free solution for playback and is also good for organizing a mp3 collection - e.g. removing redundancies or standardize genres or other tag information. In my opinion, this is the best alternative for iTunes or Amarok for Windows. For ripping cdex (also on sourceforge) is still my first choice and for further tagging and inserting cover information I prefer mp3tag, which is the best application for this in my opinion (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html).
