Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. Asymptote provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text.
Great tool for high-quality scientific plots. Internal C-like language allows you to do simple calculations/data processing "on the fly".
Great!
Great for producing complicated latex drawings programmatically
Nice latex tool!!
Great set of routines for drawing mathematically oriented pictures
pretty pictures and powerful software.
Asymptote is perhaps not much useful for everyone, as it is a drawing program for scientific plots. But in its category Asymptote is a real number one. I am a researcher and I use it every day in my work. There is hardly something available, which can compete with the beauty of produced plots.
A unique tool for producing scientific illustrations. Great support, too. A recommend this in particular to all mathematicians who need to prepare illustrations for their papers or book.
