Noob problems: Even *45 doesn't work!

    Friends...

    Getting very frustrated here!

I had an old Compaq lying around with good spec for AAH so I set that all up no worries... following the handbook install procedure to the letter.

But I am stuck. The X-ten client I have here is either getting the "no avaliable connections" message or a 404 Not Found error - like when I try the "hello world" equivalent of *45.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I am connected to the internet by high-speed cable (Optus in Australia, if that helps) and I have a Watchguard firebox firewall appliance. But as far as I know that should not be of concern, as the Asterisk box and my client machine are "fellow IPs" behind the NAT side of things both in the same subnet.

I then went on to try hooking up FWD, for which I have an account, and couldn't get that to work either.

I think what I am really looking for is a REAL newbie setup / tutorial for all this. I barely know what SIP is, etc but I do learn quickly! Am I being overly ambitious???!

Lastly, if anyone can tell me... now that I have an ENUM phone number via a trial that's going on here in Australia, how can I use it with AAH, etc???

Sorry. I seem to have all the questions, and none of the answers... but I am enjoying the discovery process :)

    Cheers all,

    - Alister
