  • ASSP is a free and open-source SMTP delegate server that is expected to filter spam and other unwanted messages. It is suitable with Windows, Linux, and other Unix-like working systems. One of the main benefits of ASSP is how well it removes spam and other unwanted emails. The item uses a blend of different systems, including blacklists, whitelists, and simulated intelligence computations, to recognize and obstruct unfortunate messages. Users are free to configure the software in any way they see fit because ASSP can be customized to meet the needs of specific organizations as well as individual users. Another benefit of ASSP is its simplicity of use. The software has an intuitive web interface that simplifies configuration and administration. Because it is compatible with a wide range of email clients and servers, ASSP can also be incorporated into a variety of email systems. Additionally, ASSP is extremely adaptable. Users have the ability to configure the software to use a variety of spam filters, modify the scoring system used to identify spam and create individualized rules to deal with specific types of emails. However, it is essential to keep in mind that ASSP may require some technical expertise and knowledge for proper setup and configuration. Additionally, the software may require initial tuning, which can take some time, in order to perform at its best. As a whole, ASSP is an effective and highly customizable SMTP proxy server for removing spam and other unwanted emails. It is an excellent choice for businesses and individuals looking to improve their email security and reduce the number of unwanted messages they receive because of its ease of use and compatibility with a large number of email clients and servers. However, customers should be willing to put in some effort and time to properly set up and design the product.

  • This is quite a decent anti-spam platform. It does however take some finesse in configuring it. The interface is clean and functional but can be a little confusing until you get used to using it. I have not experienced many crashes. And of coarse its open source and free and it works so theres three positives.

  • Excellent product, you need time to handle it, but after some time you recognize that the gui is really functional and the product is designed to get you out of the spam trap. Dont give up because of the overhelming gui at the start.

  • esta super!
  • ASSP is by far the best open source anti-spam solution available. Setup can be a bit challenging unless you are experienced with Linux and mail servers. Since implementing ASSP I have pretty much forgotten what spam looks like since I never see it. Thank you Thomas & the rest of the ASSP Team!!!! This project is so good I have, and will continue to donate to it.
  • After a long time of using and heavy fighting with ASSP I removed it from my server, what a relief! It might be a good anti-spam solution in theory but it has 3 big issues: 1. Extremely hard to set up and maintain. 2. Still full of bugs and crashes. 3. Extremely bad support. Of course it's free but there's almost no help at all. A dead user forum and a mailing list which doesn't really help much because the owner is not really happy to help. :( --- Fortunately I found a solution which is also free but works like a charm. Extremely easy to install and to set up. And it filters much more spam than ASSP. I don't want to place a link here for that company, just google for "FRAMS".
  • ASSP is a great product with many useful options. Actually I can't think of anything missing when it comes to features. Speed and and resource usage are also great, never had any issues with the system. The only downside is the webinterface. It is hard to navigate and find the correct option even for a long time user. Also the menu doesn't work properly in firefox.
  • I've been using ASSP since version 1.06 as developed by John Hanna. This is simply the best free anti-spam solution there is. You can run it under Windows or Linux or anything else that supports Perl, at least you used to be able to I haven't updated in awhile since it just works. At present my number of days of operation stands at 3803.638 days. Do the math. Yah it rocks.

  • Special requirement to prevent use of email for secure data from our BI tool. Thirty minutes to download all components and install. One hour to configure the smtp relay to drop email from recipients not in a white list. Not bad for a complex tool such as ASSP. You have my vote!

English: Really Great!
  • Insanely hard to configure, no helpfull tutorial available what can be a good start, but its worth a try for sure.

  • For me this is one of the best Anti Spam solutions. But unfortunately there's a big flaw: It has a lot of features and configuration items. Many of the configuration I simply don't understand and there's no way to find out how to configure it correctly. I searched hours and hours to find some how-to, but no luck so far. The solution is great but the support is pooooooooor. :( Additional note: Must say goodby to ASSP after almost 2 years of using it. It's extremely complicated to set up and maintain – much to complicated for me. If the developer would be a little bit less arrogant with his responses it would be very helpful.

  • Great job!
  • Seriously awesome spam protection! Easy to install and get up and running. There are so many options that it takes a bit of digging around to get the hang of what needs to be adjusted, but it's well worth the effort.

  • Super! Lots of configure possibilities. Only one thing is missing. A daily report to the users to show them all blocked mails for that day, so they can choose to resend the false positives....
  • i like it very much. easy to use and amazing. I love it!
