We announce immediate availability of beta4 - probably the last beta before 1.0 final is out.
We put a lot of effort into further improvement of the player, which resulted in great upgrade of collection database and lots of bug fixes. We would be very glad to hear your opinions on this beta! Also, check out our new website at http://amarok.kde.org!

I really like amarok, but there is one feature in Juk that I
miss in Amarok:
If I have a song called "Song1" which has an Artist-Tag
"Artist1 feat. Artist2" this song is shown in the Collection
under "Artist1" as well as "Artist2".
This also works if the Artist Tag is "Artist1" and the
Song-Tag is "Song1 (ft. Artist2)".
Keep up the great work, amarok is better in nearly every
aspect...

Lots of improvements.
SQlite now bundled.
ebuilds are now in separate package "ebuilds".

Here's a thought - a playlist option that polls a
particular directory, adding files to playlist whenever
a new one is found. This way, a user downloading music
could save them to a particular directory, which
amarok would be polling regularly, and the songs would
play automatically.

It would be nice if i could add songs to the play list simply by dragging them from konqueror to the amaroK's tray icon. Is it possible to implement?.

amaroK is a very good player, but need many improvments. First thing you should work on is equalizer. amaroK generates beautiful sound (better than xmms), but i`ve got many song with low quality (128kbps) and and i need improve it to get good sound.Good thing can be also integrated playlist window with main.

Ups. it seems that sourceforge removes 'unnecessary' necessary space characters. let me repaint at least one of the graphics:
old structure (now):
toplevel window
+-- Widget A (top)
|....+-- toolbox (left)
|....+-- playlist (right)
+-- Widget B (playlist menus at bottom)
new structure (proposed)

Hi!
I like the basic idea of amaroK very much and want to help. The reason:
It is already my favourite music player on Linux. I don't want to waste
your time in praising the last improvements. Therefore, here are
some proposals for some changes that I would find useful, based on 0.9b3:
proposed new options:
o crossfade - not only seconds, but also time length in musical notes...
