An attempt to maintain the classic amarok, based on 1.4.10.
It is important to keep the 1.4 branch alive. The 2.0 version of Amarok is very different than the 1.4 version, and much of the community has been greatly disappointed. 1.4 has been stable and has worked great for a long time. Lets keep this alive!
Thank you David! After years of "development" the Amarok 2 rewrite still can't match Amarok 1.4 for features or stability and never will. Fortunately this is open source and we can and will keep 1.4 alive. By the way are you aware of the patches over at Arch Linux ? http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=25712 http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Amarok_1.4
Is great to continue maintaining Amarok 1.4, because libraries and web services change. I do not believe how programmers threw it and pretend to forget it existence. I agree that v2 is so different that it were been better, have begun it with other name, and by the way, it were today at 0.9 version, because it is very faulty.
It's great that you are going to maintain amarok-1.4. I tried using 2 for some while now but it just sucks in comparison to amarok1.4 and is buggy like hell :( It's sad but amarok 2 just died for me...
