This project will consist of a number of advanced random generators, most probably all written in php, that can be hosted on http servers. An example of this is "Mafia Scum Tools", which randomly allocates a title to a name (useful for forum RPG games)

########################################################################################### UPDATE LOG adv-random-gen.sourceforge.net ########################################################################################### --> SEB(3:0:1) from SEB(3:0:0) - Add some extra security in the verification of included files. ---> SEB(3:0:0) from SEB(2:0:0) - This version is a complete overhaul of the previous version, and hence I have stepped the primary version number up by one. - When "sort by title" or "sort by person" is selected, titles and names are actually sorted. ---> SEB(2:0:0) from 1.3 - Now using VNSC SEB standard numbering system for clarity (http://vnsc.sourceforge.net/?id=SEB) - Fixed long outstanding bug with apostrophes rendering /'s before them. ---> 1.3 from 1.2 - Fixed non-shell theme so it is easy to read on all monitors. - Fixed link for "Home". ---> 1.2 from 1.1 - Added proper support for random generator shell. It now functions perfectly in both environments. It is a huge overhaul from the old code. - Changed the layout slightly, and radically the way in which it loads the layout. ---> 1.1 from 1.0 - This release is purely maintenance, made for the integration into the Random Generator Shell. This release adds the use of the module_conf.php file.
########################################################################################### UPDATE LOG adv-random-gen.sourceforge.net ########################################################################################### E - Enhancement B - Bug fix ---> 1:2:1 from 1.0 RC3 - B: Fixed a nightmare waiting to happen in the global variables. - E: Updated the theme slightly. ---> 1:1:0 from 1.0 RC3 - Migrating to VNSC SEB standard of numbering. - Added news column. ---> 1.0 RC3 from 1.0 RC2 - Made more compatible with Internet Explorer. - Minor theme improvements. ---> 1.0 RC2 from 1.0 RC - Found and fixed a fatal flaw in the conf.php file that did not allow php versions prior to PHP 4.3.0 to use the shell. It now supports any version >= PHP 3.0. ---> 1.0 RC from 0.84 - Fixed up some errors which made the modules not refresh variables, ending in some repetition of variables. - Made slight alterations to the theme - Added a Quick Search "Contents" menu. - Made modules autodetected (Unless configured otherwise) ---> 0.84 from 0.83 - "Cacky" theme updated, please notify nerdnetwork@users.sourceforge.net for any improvements. - Made proper integration possible by adding CSS related updates to the "in-shell" option. ---> 0.83 from 0.82 - Added capability to integrate Random Generators into the shell itself. - Added Support for the new Random Generator "Password Generator" - Added to Readme instructions for proper use - Realised that version number in shell had not been updating - now 0.83. - Added Fancy javascript for easier use. - Updated Theme ---> 0.82 from 0.81 - Added Version support - Added proper packaged files (i.e. Readme) - Separated the CSS style information into another file (css.css) - Used proper archive directory tree (all files now in a folder called "shell")
Advanced Random Generators has been updated for what I envisage to be the last time. I fixed a security hole, and now, I'm moving on to better things?
Hello everyone! When I wrote the Advanced Random Generators, Mafia Scum Tools packages a couple of years ago, I was very inexperienced, and was merely creating a useful tool for a friend. Recently, however, I have become aware of a major security hole which I have left in the software, which is present in all Mafia Scum Tools versions. For more information, please see here: http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2007-0501 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/22151/info The fix is trivial, but at this very moment in time, I do not have time to do it. Additionally, the algorithm needs a complete rewrite (it was obvious that I was ... paltry at writing code back then). At this stage, I recommend that you DO NOT use this software on your home machine, if it is accessible over the internet. I apologise for any inconvenience.
