File Release Notes and Changelog
Notes:
Changes:
We didn't plan to release a new 1.6.x-snapshot, but we did it nevertheless because of so many changes. This release does _not_ include the micecatch webinterface and the slackpkg software because we still work on this parts of 1.7.0.
Here are the changes for 1.6.4:
glibc is now build with the ctermid() patch. The linux kernel was updated to 2.6.19.4 (we provide the latest 2.6.19.x packages within the next days on the subversion repository). The netcat (nc) package was build with ssp, the 1.79s version of OpenBSDs inetd used by slackware was replaced by the 1.123 version from Debian.
The package of dnsmasq is now compiled with ssp too; gradm was updated to v. 2.1.10; iptables now includes the grsecurity patch. Some other updates were also made for rkhunter, openssh, openssl, nmap and the tcpip-package.
sysklogd now also uses the debian package source (but with ssp and -pie) and is compiled for 2.6.x kernels now.
The following security updates were made:
CVE-2007-1263: gnupg update from 1.4.6 to 1.4.7
CVE-2007-1218: tcpdump update from 3.9.4 to 3.9.5 (including a libpcap update from 0.9.4 to 0.9.5)
CVE-2007-0897 & CVE-2007-0898: clamav updated from 0.90rc2 to 0.90.1
CVE-2007-0476: openldap update from 2.3.27 to 2.3.32
CVE-2007-0451: spamassasin update to 3.1.8
