Importing Guitar Hero™ II songs
--------------------------------

Just as with GH1, you'll need to have the PS2 disc of Guitar Hero™ II. Also as before, you'll need to have OggEnc installed. For example on Windows, copy the encoder into the game's folder.
Once you have these details sorted, just pop the disc in, fire up the game and select Song Editor > Import Guitar Hero songs.

Since there are over 60 songs to import and many have three separate tracks, you can trust me when I say that the importer will take its sweet time to do its magic. For example, on an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ running Linux the process took a little over 8 hours. If you get impatient at any time, you can just quit the importer and run it again later to continue with the rest of the songs.

Modification support
--------------------

This new release adds support for game modifications or mods. The mods can alter all data files shipped with the game and more than one mod may be active at a time. The mods can be switched on or off from Settings > Game Settings > Mod Settings. An example mod called Chilly is included with the game.

One minute guide to making mods
-------------------------------

1. Modify one or more of the game files in the data folder.
2. Create a folder for your mod in the data/mods folder. The folder name will be your mod's name.
3. Copy the files you modified into the mod's folder.
4. Zip the mod folder and spread the resulting package.

Installing the mod is just as easy: Just unzip the mod into the data/mods folder and switch it on from the game settings.

Translations
------------

Translations for various languages are now included with the game. You can select the active language from Settings > Game Settings > Language.

Note that some languages, especially Russian and Hebrew require fonts that have the necessary characters for the language. The included fonts don't have those characters, and therefore you should copy a proper font over data/international.ttf. You can also adjust the size of the font in Settings > Video Settings > Text size.
