NotNet (Notebook Network) Profiler

File Release Notes and Changelog

Release Name: 0.5.0

Notes:
This release no longer limits the services you can control with the NotNet Profiler
to some network related services. Now, the NotNet Profiler can manage any init script.

In addition to Mozilla and Opera, Firefox and Konqueror are now supported, too
(for scheme-based proxy changing).

This release is a first step to distribution independancy. The NotNet Profiler
no longer depends on Debian's update-rc.d and invoke-rc.d.

Changes: version 0.5.0 ------------- - improved service handling (every init script can be managed by NotNet) - removed parameter "default_service" parameter (no longer necessary) - added resolv.conf handling (needed for static, non-pcmcia networking) - added config option "default_scheme" (if not used, "local" is the default) - added support for the firefox browser - changed man pages (notnet, .notnetrc, notnet.conf, notnetlogin) - modified README, INSTALL - added README.grub - modified example files (.notnetrc, notnet.conf) - no output on missing user config - improve proxy environment variable handling - added basic konqueror support (http, https and ftp proxy, no proxy, conf url) - added return codes to configure_<browser> functions - stop services in reversed order - added support for other distributions - does not depend on invoke-rc.d anymore - does not depend on update-rc.d anymore - tries to find the correct init path - removed the parameter use_env (because use_* is reserved for services) - corrected symlink handling for already managed services
