<LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">0.5.x or 0.6, upgrade to 0.7 first. </FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">0.7, you should upgrade to 0.8 first. </FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">0.8, you should upgrade to 0.9 first</FONT> <LI><FONT face=Arial>0.9.0, you should upgrade to 0.9.1 first</FONT></LI></UL><P><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">You can still find these packages in the 'Older Versions' section of the Downloads Section)<BR><BR><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> means that this step is optional to perform; I did but you don't have to.</FONT> </P><P><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif" color=#009966 size=3><STRONG>Upgrade from version 0.9.1/0.9.2, 1.0 RC1 and RC2<BR><FONT color=#6600cc size=2>these steps assume you have Simpleboard already installed and have got a working forum with posts.</FONT></STRONG></FONT></P><OL><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional] </STRONG>Create a new menu item for the Main Menu and make it of type "Typed Content" and name it the same as the link to your Simpleboard <BR></FONT><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG><BR></STRONG></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> As text, put in something like "The forum is down for maintenance, etc."; <BR><BR></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> Publish this menu item and unpublish the one to the real forum. You now have a "Forum Offline notice" <BR><BR></FONT><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Backup the 6 mos_sb_* tables. Make sure you backup the <STRONG>DATA and STRUCTURE</STRONG> of the tables! <BR><EM>You won't be needing them in the next steps, but it <STRONG>always</STRONG> a very good idea to have the tables backed up before you do maintenance on the Simpleboard Package!!</EM><BR><BR></FONT><LI><FONT face=Arial><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> Copy the Simpleboard CSS file if you have changed it.</FONT> <BR><BR>
<LI><FONT face=Arial><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> Make a backup of the components/com_simpleboard/avatars directory, especially if you have users that have uploaded their own Avatars!<BR><EM>--Remember: the entire directory structure for com_simpleboard will be deleted when you uninstall Simpleboard!</EM></FONT> <BR><BR><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> Make notes of your Simpleboard configuration from components->Simpleboard->Configuration. You can then easily reconfigure Simpleboard. <BR><EM>-- <STRONG>Don't </STRONG>overwrite the new simpleboard_config.php file with your current one. There are new configuration options you will then overwrite!</EM> <BR></FONT><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><EM><FONT color=#990000><BR></FONT></EM></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Deinstall the Simpleboard Component 0.9.1/0.9.2/1.0 RC1/1.0 RC2; <BR><BR></FONT>
<LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Install Simpleboard 1.0 RC3;<BR><BR></FONT><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional] </STRONG>Go to Components->Simpleboard->Configuration and update the configuration settings;<BR><EM>Don't forget to review the new options as well! It's very well possible the newest version has options you might not have seen before..</EM><BR><BR></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT face=Arial><STRONG>[optional] </STRONG>Restore the CSS file</FONT> <BR><BR><LI><FONT face=Arial><STRONG>[optional] </STRONG>Restore the components/com_simpleboard/avatars directory</FONT></FONT><FONT face="Trebuchet MS"> <BR><BR></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> Create a new forum menu item for the Main Menu and publish it.<BR><EM>-- It's recommended to create a new menu item, since the item id will have changed</EM> <BR><BR></FONT><LI><FONT face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG>[optional]</STRONG> unpublish the "Forum Offline" item you created in the Main Menu</FONT></LI></OL>
