    1- Sound Ruler release types:

        There are currently 3 release types available:

        MS Windows stand alone (soundruler_windows_093*.zip)
                You do not need Matlab to run it.
                It is faster than scripts in Matlab.
                It has fewer graph editing options than the M-file version.

        Unix (Linux) stand alone (soundruler_linux_093*.zip)
                You do not need Matlab to run it.
                It is faster than scripts in Matlab.
                It has fewer graph editing options than the M-file version.

        Source M-files script (soundruler_script_windows_093*.zip
                      and soundruler_script_linux_093*.zip)
                Requires Matlab 6.x to run.
                The code can be altered.
                It is slower than the standalone version.
                It has full print preview and drag-n-drop graph editing.
                It should run on any platform with minor adjustments.

     2- System requirements:

     Sound Ruler itself does not demand many resources, but sound analysis
is very processor intensive. The more extensive and detailed your analyses
are, the more you will benefit from a fast computer.
     Although Sound Ruler runs well in a Pentium 2 at 233 MHz, even an
upgrade from a Pentium 4 at 1.7 GHz to a Pentium 4 at 2.4 GHz can produce
pronounced reduction in analysis time.

     Stand alone PC version:

          Pentium 100 (486 not tested yet)
          32 MB of RAM memory
          30 MB of free hard disk space
          MS Windows 95 or newer

     Stand alone Unix version:

          100 MHz processor
          32 MB of RAM memory
          30 MB of free hard disk space
          X windows

     M-files version:

          Matlab version 6.x
          3 MB of free hard disk space

    3- Older versions

     Only the sources of older versions are left online to save disk space.
     Older binaries are available on request by email.

2003-04-06

Changes:
version 0.934 - 2003-04-06
     Improved the tuning curve, with bug fixes and better filter and help
          files.
     Minor bug fixes.

version 0.933 - 2003-04-01

     Separated linux and windows script versions, mostly to optimize          
          figure display for each system.
     Implemented 2 dimensional Cross Correlation analysis and 
          improved the algorithms.
     Changed the default settings for more general ones, to smoothen 
          the learning curve of new users.
     Minor bug fixes.

version 0.932 - 2003-03-28

     First release of the Linux binaries.
     Fixed a resource leak in the Windows stand alone version.
     Fixed a problem with path in the Windows stand alone version.
     Minor bug fixes.

version 0.931 - 2003-03-25

     First release at SourceForge. Matlab m-files and Windows binaries.
     Extensive changes for adjustment to the restrictions of the matlab 
          compiler.
     Incorporated the Tuning Curve filters and Amplitude Calibration as
          tools in SoundRuler.
     Added the Textpad, SoundMath and CCA.
