Notes: As there seems to be a problem with using PNG under some circumstances I've changed to using JPG instead. There is an option in the file menu to use PNG for the previews.
Changes: Added toggle menu item "usePNG" to the file menu. Update the code in showDotImage() to honor the selected option (JPG/PNG).
