File Release Notes and Changelog
Notes:
We are happy to announce FreedroidRPG 0.12.1
FreedroidRPG 0.12.x represents 3 months of work and over
400 changes since the last release of the 0.11.x series.
There are many improvements and bug fixes since last
release, the main being:
* Content
o A Tutorial is now implemented
o Completely new starting level that makes much better
sense with the storyline
o Big changes on old starting level layout
o Totally remade entrance to Disruptor Shield Control Base
as well as adding connecting sections inside the base
o New music tracks
* Engine
o Cleaned up even more bugs in robot AI and path finding
o Fixed some bugs in hit stun and chance to hit (hit% now
actually corresponds to chance to hit stats)
o Added Lua coding language to dialogues, greatly
increasing the possibilities of rich and alternating
content.
* Level editor
o Drag select area
o Cut, copy, delete and paste area
o Drag and drop movement (both area and single objects)
Also, translations in general are not up to date, and at
times incorrect/confusing. Thus they are disabled in 0.12.1.
We will add down loadable translation packages as the languages become available.
Note:
Save games from 0.11.x are not compatible.
Save games from 0.12(.0) are compatible BUT... the bug
spawning the 0.12.1 release remains in the savegame.
Changes:
0.12.1 fixes a small bug that unfortunately crept into the
0.12 final that makes the Hell Fortress inaccessible.
All users are recommended to update to 0.12.1.
To be able to finish a game that was started with 0.12, when
you reach the point where the guards to HF should let you in
through the gate, you can enter the Editor from inside your
game with ctrl+alt+e and either "jump" across the locked door
or delete it.
