I have been testing the zd1211 driver on the aforementioned USB adapter. My setup is an ECS Desknote A928 running Mepis Linux (a debian distro) on a AT&T 6850G wireless router. I am not a technician or a programmer. The software works in managed mode only (using dhcp or static ip), but looses its connection to the router every now and then. When it does lose the connection, it sometimes brings down the wireless network as well. Once the wireless network is down, the router has to be rebooted because any attempt to access the router via its web based control program fails - no matter which station is used to attempt accessing router management. This happens with consistency, and does not happen with my Linksys WUSB12 adapter using wlan_ng. System error messages from zd1211 failure: Jun 15 23:20:38 Desknote kernel: USB ST Code =3D -71 Jun 15 23:20:38 Desknote kernel: nonzero read bulk status received: -EPROTO Jun 15 23:20:38 Desknote kernel: USB ST Code =3D -71 I hope someone can look into this because it makes this adapter unusable from a practical point of view despite the fact that the driver actually works on it. BTW, and ideas when a new driver version will be released?=20 Thanks --=20 Phillip Fries Cell: 716-417-9248 Tele: 813-774-6603 Email: phi...@gm... |
