Hi!
I am trying to run your software on Win 7 64 bit machine.
It seems like it has installed correctly but when I try to run zbarcam I get following error:
ERROR: zbar processor in _zbar_video_open():
invalid request: failed to connect to camera '/dev/video0'

Here are more details after I run zbar --verbose=32 [/dev/video?]. I guess the other two command are for linux users.

C:\Program Files (x86)\ZBar>zbarcam --verbose=32 [/dev/video?]
_zbar_video_open: searching for camera: [/dev/video?] (-1)

ERROR: zbar video in _zbar_video_open():

ERROR: zbar processor in _zbar_video_open():

If you can fix the problem that will be great.
Thanks for making this nice software

Regards
Nikhil
ps. just for your info - on this support page there seems to spelling error - zbar has been spelled as zebra at many places. Perhaps that was the old name?

    hi Nikhil-

    unfortunately, this version of zbar probably does not support your camera (i don't know if win7 even supports VfW?). we should have better windows device support in a future release.

    also, could you attach the output of running just:
    zbarcam --verbose=32

    > zbar has been spelled as zebra at many places

    thanks for bringing this to my attention. i cleaned up those i could find... feel free to let me know if you see any more :)

    Hi! Spadix,

    When I ran the command zbarcam --verbose=32, surprisingly, the program actually started.
    It seems that it starts sometimes and sometimes it does not.
    When it does not start it gives following output -

    C:\Program Files (x86)\ZBar>zbarcam --verbose=32
    _zbar_video_open: searching for camera: /dev/video0 (0)
    _zbar_video_open: [0] Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32) - Version: 6.1.76
    00.16385
    vfw_capture_thread: spawned vfw capture thread (thr=05a8)
    ERROR: zbar video in _zbar_video_open():
    invalid request: failed to connect to camera '/dev/video0'
    ERROR: zbar processor in _zbar_video_open():
    invalid request: failed to connect to camera '/dev/video0'

    Basically it runs once in every 4 tries - though randomly.
    I have to say the software works perfectly when it does start. In last few days I have tried about 10 such free programs - only two programs did work for me - one is EymBarcode (which was just a demo software) and the other is zbarcam.

    this sounds like some kind of race condition...it could be that your driver is not happy with the way we're using it. all of this should be resolved when we switch to DirectShow

    migrating request to a bug for DirectShow support
