I have created a new separate Perl script to do uploads, along with the changes in yawps.pm to use it, and the images for it. It add two new buttons beside the icons when you are creating a new post.
The first button inserts the [img] tags to the post - The second opens up the upload script (similar to the smiley button) and allows the user to select up to 8 photo/files from the computer and upload to the defined website directory. Once uploaded the user can click the links or the photos themselves on the next page (success page) to automatically include the photos in the users post (just like clicking a smiley icon).
I want to include my script, images, changed file freely for others can use the new feature for their websites. (My way of giving something back for using this program) What I am posting for is to receive permission from the Adrian Heiszler of Yawps or to see if the Adrian Heiszler wants to include it in a update of Yawps.
If Adrian Heiszler is interested please contact me via my Sourceforge account DK47421 or respond to my e-mail (I am sending it as given in the script docs)- This post is more of a back-up just in case the e-mail is no longer valid.
Here are some links to download the YAWPS Upload addon/hack. I have included everything you need and the information on how and what to do. If you have any problems try re-reading it and then post here if you can't fix it - I can't promise I'll be around here much longer.
I uploaded it to many various sites so that the hack/addon may be around long enough for someone to read this forum and get the file. All the files are the same, you just need one link that works.
Best of luck
hi. that script is great idea, i think you can do it like other do it in these forum, you only have to put the new script and tell us from the line nº to line nº change these, and thats it.
It's a little more complicated than that - I had to write a new external script to handle the uploads. It seems the owner does not frequent these forums anymore, or very often (or check e-mail).
I'll do one better I'll just put together a package (zip) of the necessary files and the information to add in the other script files to make it work correctly.
I'll post a link to it on this message thread when I get it done in the coming week.
