YAWL 3.0 Released

The latest version of YAWL, Release 3.0, was made available today. The centrepiece of this release is a completely rewritten process editor, which makes great leaps forward in terms of usability and robustness, as well as an auto-update feature which ensures the most up-to-date build is always available. There have also been a number of improvements to the YAWL Engine and Services.

YAWL 2.3 is now available

YAWL 2.3, a new version of the YAWL Workflow Environment, was released today, 19 April 2012. This release includes a number of new features, including delayed case starting, passing files as data and support for interprocess communication, as well as several enhancements and bug fixes. YAWL 2.2beta released

YAWL 2.2beta, a new version of the YAWL Workflow Environment, was released today, 2 June 2011. This beta release includes a host of new features, including support for non-human resources, new calendar and scheduling services, new task documentation capabilities, and numerous enhancements and bug fixes. Release of YAWL 2.1 beta

A new version of the YAWL Workflow Environment, YAWL 2.1beta, was released today, 4 June 2010. This beta release includes a host of new features, including a new process logging framework, an LDAP layer for importing org data, a process monitoring service, extended attributes supporting dynamic formatting of web forms, faster form generation, support for process configuration, new validation checks, better security and much, much more! YAWL 2.0 beta Update 3 released

This update of YAWL 2.0 beta includes a fundamental change to the file format produced by the Editor (the new format combines the specification decription and layout information in a single file). YAWL: New version of the BPMN2YAWL plugin has been released

YAWL is a BPM/Workflow system. Based on a concise and powerful modelling language, YAWL handles complex data, transformations, integration with organizational resources and Web Service integration. Built in Java, it uses XML Schema and XQuery natively.

Some small bugs have been fixed.

An update for YAWL Release 2.0 beta is now avilable. It addresses a number of issues and adds several enhancements, particularly to the Editor. Please read the release notes for more details, especially if you have already installed Release 2.0 beta.

YAWL Release 2.0 beta now available

The new beta release of the YAWL environment includes a more robust workflow engine with a number of new features, a new resource service that supports 38 different resource patterns for allocating resources to tasks, and an upgraded process editor.

Also included is an all-in-one installer for Windows which contains the YAWL Engine and associated core services, the YAWL Editor, Apache Tomcat and PosgreSQL Database Server. The installer will setup a complete version of the YAWL Workflow Environment in a few mouse clicks.... read more

YAWL complete for Windows

This release includes an installer for Windows which contains: YAWL Engine Beta 8.2, YAWL Editor 1.5, Apache Tomcat 5.5.23 and PosgreSQL Database Server 8.0. The installer allows users to setup a complete version of the YAWL Workflow System in a few mouse clicks.

Engine Beta 8.2 Released

This release supports Java 1.5 and has better stability than previous versions. It features improved XForms generation, persistence configuration for Microsoft SQL Server and minor code fixes.

Beta 8 Released

This release contains (i) a major redevelopment and extension of the Worklet Service, which now includes a dynamic exception handling component that monitors for and manages process exceptions, based on case contexts, in real time; (b) updates to the SMS service; and (c) some bug fixes and refactors.

Beta 7 Released

Beta 7 of the YAWL Engine has been released.

This version includes the first release of a custom service called the Worklet Dynamic Process Selection Service (workletSelector.war), which is designed to provide the ability to substitute a workitem in a YAWL process with a dynamically selected "worklet" - a discrete YAWL process that acts as a sub-net for the workitem and so handles one specific task in a larger, composite process activity. Several bug fixes and enhancements are also in this release.

Beta 6 Released

The Beta 6 version of the YAWL engine, and its matching editor (version 1.3) are now available for download. This release supports the control flow, data-flow perspectives, and introduces direct and role-based resource allocation as a precursor to rich resource perspective support.

Administrators now have access to new administration capabilities to create and manage users and roles.

This version of the engine enhances the existing persistance mechanism. The persistence mechanism has been overhauled to ensure greater robustness.

Beta 4 Released

Beta version 4 of the YAWL Environment has been released. There is an editor, and engine for download. The engine is based on a Service Oriented Architecture, and covers control flow, data. It can be linked with any Web service, using a custom API, and it supports persistence.

Beta 3 Released

We recently released the Beta3 version of YAWL.

It contains a stand alone version to experiment and play with, however for the more serious users a Web application version is provided. It includes a Web service architecture, supports multiple users etc.

Editor 1.0 Released

We've been meaning to move the YAWL Project's YAWLEditor across to Sourceforge for a while now.

After a hickup with the only server where it was housed last week, we've finally bitten the bullet and uploaded the editor and its source.

YAWL Licence

YAWL has further opened up its source by adopting the Apache Licence. The intention is to embrace the spirit of open source and foster a user community of developers and users of the YAWL software.
