      > org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP

Looks like a permission-thing. Try this:

      https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4076808

If it solves your problem, please give a short feedback. I will put
      it into the FAQs then.

      Good luck!
      lotk

      Hello Stephan,

      thanks for your reply.

I tried the solution ut unfortunely it doesn´t work.

I also tried to give yawebmail *all* permissions in the policies but the error
      still apears.

It seems that the app cannot create the dir:
      /var/lib/tomcat5.5/work/Catalina/localhost/yawebmail/org/apache/jsp/index_jsp.java

      I´m running Tomcat 5.5 on java 1.5.0.8

      Any help could be great.

      Regards Marcus

That's strange. There's got to be something in

        /var/lib/tomcat5.5/logs/catalina.out

        lotk

      Hello Stephan,

i tried differend ways in the last week but nothing helped.
Now I updatet my Linux to latest patches (update of the file system)
      and now yawebmail runs!

I don´t understand why, because at this time I changed nothing about the Tomcat/Java
      config...

Things I changed the last days:
      Java Path new configured
      Tomcat path checked
      Java Version checked (1.5.08)
Reading thousands of helpfiles and newsgroups :-)

      Best regards
      Marcus

      Fine! Nice to know.

I think that's what did the job for you done. Some Linux-installations
deliver a broken java-link in /usr/bin/java. Maybe this was your
      problem...

      Bests
