I have Yahoopops 0.6 on WinXP and use it with Outlook
XP.

It managed to fetch mail all right, but sometimes does
not send mail. The error message is that "Yahoo asks me
to POP authenticate before sending". I do have a
setting in Outlook which is supposed to do that.

What could the problem be?

Thanks

    If this is happening after the recent account changes with
    Yahoo mail (take note any other users who may be
    experiencing this problem), try logging in manually through
    your browser to view and clear the message screen
    (concerning increased mailbox size to 100Mb etc.) that might
    be preventing normal account access thru Yahoo!Pops.
    Otherwise review your account settings and check the
    included Help documentation.
    Good luck.

    I get this.. Maybe yahoo has changed the format of retrieving
    messages. I've been unable to send email since the 10th

    This happened before Yahoo changed its web site.

    I get the message from Yahoo asking to pop authenticate.
    perhaps that is what YahooPOPS is not doing. BTW It was
    working very well with version 0.5. Maybe I should just
    downgrade...

    Yes, look at the outlook express setup instructions on
    http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net. It will tell you how to set
    up SMTP:
    http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/modules.php?
    op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&art
    id=5&page=1
    Look at steps 10 & 11.
    Closing.
