I currently monitor our VMware server using the esxi code found here http://xymonesxi.sourceforge.net/

But it doesn't give any hard drive info for the server or many other stats that it would be nice to have. Are there any other things that you guys use to get info from a VMware server? I tried something that someone else mentioned once before that uses SSH but I could never get it to actually connect to our server. Any other ideas?

UPDATE: I got a little more info about the datastore usage using this script, but it's not much. http://communities.quest.com/docs/DOC-12656

You are thinking physical hard drives I'm assuming.. under the disk column you see the VMFS datastores and under the sdd column you'll see the SAN disks... But I haven't implemented any local disk monitoring. Any information on the physical disks in an ESXi is confusing at best and not that informative, we use hardware monitors for this like RSAII checks for IBM Servers that scans for hardware/disk failures.
