  • I compiled xvidcap 1.1.4pre2 on PPC Ubuntulinux, but, running gvidcap, I get these errors trying capturing video:
    As user:
    gand@ubuntu:~/xvidcap-1.1.4pre2$ src/gvidcap Doing multi-frame capture.
    gtk2_control.c: OK_attempts = 0
Unrecoverable error while initializing job from app_data.
target is still '0'. This should never happen.
Please contact the xvidcap project team.

    • Oops,
this means that some problem occurred while detecting what kind of format you want to record. The built system for the preview is not yet really smart about all the various permutations of supported formats (like depending on which libraries you have installed).

      Try this:

      src/gvidcap --mf
(for making it use multi-frame capture)

      If that fails, too, try using;
      src/gvidcap --mf --file test.avi

      If that still fails, try:
src/gvidcap --mf --file test.avi --format avi --codec mpeg4

If all those fail, we prolly need to look at whether smth. went wrong during configure time. To do that, extract the tarbal to a fresh directory, and do:
      ./configure --with-gtk2 --with-forced-embedded-ffmpeg >myconfig.log 2>&1

This will produce a file myconfig.log. Send that to me in a privat email.

      HTH,

      Karl.

Done; I send you myconfig.log file.
