XTF 2.2 beta

XTF 2.2 beta is now available. This is a fairly major release with several new features and many bug fixes. For a full listing of the changes, see https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/xtf/wiki/changeLog_2.2

As always, backward compatibility has been a high priority. Existing users can upgrade their XTF core (xtf-core-2.2-beta.zip) while maintaining all their current stylesheets and configuration files unchanged. Note that re-indexing is the only necessary action.... read more

XTF 2.1.1 Released

XTF 2.1 is now available. This release contains bug fixes and stability improvements.

For a full listing of the changes, see http://xtf.wiki.sourceforge.net/changeLog_2.1.1

As always, backward compatibility has been a high priority. The only change notable in this regard is that dynaXML will no longer by default create lazy trees by itself, instead relying on textIndexer to create them. However, if you depend on dynaXML alone to do this, there is a new configuration option to turn this on.... read more

XTF 2.0 released

We are pleased to announce the release of XTF 2.0. The main changes are under the hood (mainly upgrades to the underlying Lucene and Saxon engines) but a major new feature has been added: multi-word spelling correction. Additionally, the XTF code has been reformatted to make it easier for the main developers and outside parties to work on it and collaborate. Finally, several bugs have been fixed and the documentation has been updated.... read more

In addition, there are a few new features, and a slew of bug fixes. The features in particular caused us to bump the version number to 1.9 instead of 1.8.1.

Below is a full listing of the changes for this release:

XTF 1.8-beta: EAD and more

XTF 1.8-beta is now available, and we need your feedback
on it.

In addition to minor bug fixes and features, this release contains
two major new features for the XTF community, and thus we need
outside testing before calling this a final release.

1. New stylesheets that support not only TEI, but now EAD, PDF,
HTML, and Text files. Meta-data indexing is enhanced and simplified
to look for a *.dc file, and if not found, to look inside EAD
and TEI files.... read more

XTF 1.7 Released

XTF 1.7 is now available for download at the SourceForge site. Here's a direct link to the download page: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=119724&package_id=130417

The documentation has been updated to include upgrade instructions and the new query router among other things. You can read a complete list of the changes by clicking [Notes] on the download page.

Note that many of the default stylesheets have changed, due to restructuring of the document identifiers in the default dynaXML side of things. Rather than the old obscure 10-character codes, document identifiers are now simply paths from the data directory to the data files. This should simplify life for newcomers, and make it easy to organize your data however you like.... read more
