Daily Snapshots now available

After many requests, I've finally put up daily snapshots of the XRMS CVS archive. These snapshots will be generated nightly from the current CVS.

They are available from the project home page:
http://xrms.sourceforge.net/

Hopefully, this will allow people to stay more up-to-date with what the project team is working on. We try to only check working code into CVS, but be careful.

Regards,

- Brian

XRMS now in Sourceforge CVS

As of 1400 GMT 24 Nov 2003, the XRMS code is in Sourceforge CVS.

The code in CVS reflects:
- the last tarball release
- multiple bugfixes
- merging of the 21 Nov 2003 demo code
- conversion to long php tags

The Sourceforge CVS code will be the central repository for the code going forward. The anonymous CVS archive will update tonight (it is about 24 hours behind) and the web browser for CVS will update then as well.

version 0.8b2 is up

I've uploaded 0.8b2, which should work with version 4.0+ of MySQL... no more 4.1 alpha needed.

I don't have an older version to test with, but I think I've found all locations where subqueries are used and re-written them... if there are problems I'll have to fix them and upload a new version.

There are a few misc. fixes, as well as an i18n preview in the companies pages (some.php, one.php). And a date picker.... read more

support for earlier MySQL versions

I'm in the process of re-writing some queries to make them compatible with MySQL 4.0 (and maybe 3.23).

I'll post a new tarball tomorrow, with this and other updates, and call it 0.85b2.

well... it's out there.

A few of you have downloaded it... please let me know how I can improve the setup process, and fill me in on any horrific problems that you find.

1. I left out instructions on logging in for the first time. Just point your web browser to the xrms root directory... the default account is user1/user1.

2. There's some documentation in the various .sql files that initialize the database. I'm working on a "Quick Start" guide.... read more

sorry about the downtime

I've had to move a few things around on the server, and the site's been up and down all evening... sorry for the inconvenience.

more enhancements

I've added some file storage capabilities to XRMS, so that you can -- or will soon be able to -- "attach" a file to various records... a company (e.g., contract.pdf), an opportunity (e.g., proposal.doc), a case (e.g., screenshot.gif?), etc.

Also added are some primitive campaign tracking tools and a "Search Contacts" page.

Some things have been cleaned up, in both the interface and the data model.

Misc. enhancements to the demo

I've updated the demo to allow sorting of the opportunities and cases, pretty much finished the bulk e-mail module (the demo won't send messages), and am currently writing the core user-level reports.

demo is available

A preliminary demo of the XRMS application is available at:

Login with demo1/demo1.

Not everything works yet, but should within a few days.
