Pen writes even though far from the tablet

I find that occasionally, when using the pen, a line is drawn by the pen, even though it is lifted high above the screen. So I have to erase these unwanted marks. At that time, on clicking on eraser or on other buttons, the program does not respond. The "save" button does seem to work, however. It starts behaving normally after a while. That is when I can erase the unwanted marks.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
A long line drawn when the pen is off and lack of responsiveness of the
buttons suggests that xournal is just not receiving the data from the
pen properly for a while. The two main causes are:
under linux, the driver for your pen is not working properly and
skipping input or locking up at times. Try upgrading (or downgrading)
your tablet device driver; it could be that it's just not well supported
yet.
under Windows, the Windows pen/touch interface somehow takes over and
interprets the pen gesture as a system action and doesn't pass the pen
motion anymore to xournal. Unfortunately I don't know what to do about this.
(things could also be the other way around, but in general Windows
drivers are stable, and Linux graphical environments tend not to mess up
with pen input in the way Windows does).
Sorry but there's very little I can do to help you!
Denis
Thank you. I did not realize that the problem is with the tablet
device driver and not Xournal, though after seeing your mail, I
understand this.

Saurabh
