    Hi,

Just discovered the project and I'm REALLY happy to see that there now even an Open Source switching platform. This is really great news.

I've skimmed about/FAQ/wiki pages but there something I don't clearly understand wich is: can I run Xorplus on commodity hardware (x86/x86_64 box with a bunch of NIcs) ?

Thank you in advance for your answer.
    Bests

Thanks for your interest. The Xorplus project is target to enable the innovation over the high-performance ASIC from the switch vendors, so it is necessary to run and test the code on the compatible platforms. We currently support Pronto (http://www.prontosys.net) platforms and plan to enable more platforms in the future.

If you want to try the code on commodity hardware with a bunch of NICs, you might want to integrate the Xorplus code with the original Xorp project.
